As we all know, content standards are here to stay. Here are some resources that have published student standards. Browse these sites to learn what is expected of students.
- If you are interested solely in
California, the California
Department of Education
has posted the Mathematics Content Standards for K-12
students. The document is in PDF format, which can be
downloaded and printed. If you want to learn more about

- The Eisenhower
National Clearinghouse for Mathematics and Science
Standards and
Frameworks
can be found at this site. The section on
national standards links to the NCTM site, but you can
evaluate frameworks for individual states. In addition,
you can link to other resources.

- The National
Council of Teachers of
Mathematics, begun over 70
years ago, has worked continuously to improve mathematics
education. The NCTM has published several sets of
standards which cover different mathematical strands. The
1989 version of the standards can be found at the NCTM .
An updated version (still in draft form) can be accessed
at http://www.nctm.org/standards2000/.
