Development Standards
- California's Commission on Teacher Credentialing has
released the Computer
Education Advisory Panel's Final Report.
Within the document, in blue text, is a list of standards prospective
teachers and credential teachers should master.

- The ECTL/CTAP
Technology Based Performance Standards for Teachers are
a detailed set of standards, delineating four levels of proficiency:
Personal Proficiency, Instructional Proficiency, Mentor Proficiency,
and Leadership Proficiency. After reading the standards, think about
your level of proficiency and where you would like to be.

- The National
Board for Professional Teaching Standards
has created a process of national certification for teachers. Information
on the certification process (the portfolio and assessment requirements)
as well as positive aspects of certification can be found at the site.

- The National
Staff Development Council has created
a list of standards for good staff development programs. Districts and
schools can use these standards to measure their staff development program
and to guide their programs.

- The Council of Chief State School Officers is a nationwide
organization of public officials. By clicking on the Standards
and Assessments link, you can view documents
that are related to national standards and assessments. To view these

- ISTE, the International Society for Technology in
Education, has developed Technology
Standards for Teachers.
These standards were developed in association with the National Council
for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE). The components of the
Curriculum Standards are "Recommended Foundations in Technology for
All Teachers," "Educational Computing and Technology Literacy," "Secondary
Computer Science Education" at two levels, and Educational Computing
and Technology Leadership.
